Terms of Service & User Agreement

Last updated: June 2026

Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account or using Cards of Iris, you agree to them. The most important point: Cards of Iris is only a platform that connects buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users, and we are not responsible for any payment, delivery, or dispute that arises between them.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service and User Agreement (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cards of Iris website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. What Cards of Iris is — and is not

Cards of Iris is a venue and set of tools that lets collectors list trading cards for sale, build and organise their collections, make and receive offers, and message one another to arrange a trade. That is the entirety of our role.

We are not a buyer, seller, broker, agent, dealer, auctioneer, escrow service, payment processor, shipping provider, or appraiser. We do not take possession of any item, we do not handle or hold any money, and we are not a party to any agreement made between users.

3. No payments, no escrow, no commission

All payments are arranged and made directly between the buyer and the seller, off the Platform, using whatever method they agree on. Cards of Iris never collects, holds, processes, escrows, insures, or guarantees any payment for a trade, and charges no commission on trades.

Because we do not handle payments, we cannot reverse, refund, or recover any payment between users. You are solely responsible for choosing how and when you pay or accept payment, and for any associated risk.

4. Transactions are solely between users

Any sale, trade, or exchange is a contract between the users involved — not with Cards of Iris. The buyer and seller are each solely responsible for, among other things: the accuracy of listings; the condition, authenticity, grading, and legality of items; pricing; communication; payment; packing, shipping, delivery, and any handover in person; and compliance with all applicable laws and taxes.

We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee any user, listing, item, or the ability of any user to complete a transaction. Any verification feature we may offer (for example, displaying third-party grading information) is provided for convenience only and is not a guarantee by us.

5. Disputes between users

Any dispute, disagreement, loss, or damage arising from a transaction is solely between the users involved. This includes non-payment, non-delivery, items that are not as described, damaged or counterfeit items, chargebacks, and fraud.

Cards of Iris is under no obligation to mediate, arbitrate, investigate, refund, or otherwise resolve any dispute, and accepts no responsibility for the outcome. We provide messaging tools so users can communicate, but using them does not make us a participant in, or guarantor of, any trade. You agree to resolve disputes directly with the other user and to release Cards of Iris from any related claims.

6. Subscriptions and paid features

Some Platform features are offered on paid plans (for example, Lite and Max) or unlocked by promotional codes. These fees are for access to tools and features of the Platform itself — they are not connected to, and do not insure, any user-to-user transaction. Plan pricing, limits, and renewal or expiry dates are shown on the Plans page. Paid periods are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree that you will: provide accurate account and listing information; use the Platform only for lawful purposes; honour commitments you make to other users; and not engage in fraud, harassment, money laundering, or the sale of stolen, counterfeit, or prohibited items.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

8. Intellectual property

Trading-card names, images, and related marks are the property of their respective rights holders. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you post does not infringe the rights of others, and you grant Cards of Iris a limited licence to display the content you submit for the purpose of operating the Platform.

9. No warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing, user, or item is genuine, accurate, or trustworthy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cards of Iris and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, items, profits, or data, arising out of or relating to: any transaction or dispute between users; any payment or failure to pay; any item that is not delivered or not as described; or your use of (or inability to use) the Platform.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount of subscription fees (if any) you paid to us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cards of Iris and its operators from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your transactions with other users, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or to the Platform. You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above, and your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and any dispute relating to the Platform will be subject to the courts of Singapore.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the Cards of Iris team via the contact details on the site.
